The Celtics weren’t able to finish off the Lakers in L.A. but they were able to capture one of the two games in California and will fly back to Boston with a 3-2 lead and two more games (if needed) on their home floor. Celtics fans have to love that
Here we are, where the Celtics have been in two of the three playoff series so far this season - up 2-0 on the road team. The Lakers were supposed to take 1 of 2 from Boston, but they needed a freak comeback late in Game 2 to even have a chance.
And two stand to tell the story - Boston and LA, two of basketballs most famed franchises meet for a chance to etch their name on basketball’s historic trophy. The Celtics needed 2 early 7th game wins to punch their ticket to the Big Show while LA paved their way through the west without ever facing elimination.
It’s usually the pivot, but not in this case. A late collapse almost put the Lakers in a bind, but an even later no-call left LA on top as time expired, putting them up 3-1 and giving them three chances to ice this series. Will they need all three tries? I doubt it, but Game 5
After the home-court dominance took a break in games 2 and 3, this series was crammed back to even when the Pistons used a strong 4th quarter push to leave the Celtics in the proverbial dust. Boston was up and down, but never got close enough.
Well, here are two teams that won road games and that’s probably why they are here. The Lakers ousted the Jazz in Game 6 in Utah, and it was the road team Spurs that finished off a feisty Hornets group in New Orleans in Game 7.
It hasn’t been as easy as they had hoped, but the Celtics are one series away from that NBA Championship series they’ve been after all season long. After 14 playoff games, a perfect record at home and a winless road venture
Regardless of what happens on Tuesday, one of these great teams will have a chance to send the other one home come Thursday—and I’ll be watching. My guess is that New Orleans will be coming into San Antonio
There are plenty of NBA playoff games this week, but there’s only one that has me ready to roll. The Jazz and Lakers play in L.A. on Wednesday Night, and I can’t wait to see this one. What people don’t realize is that the Lakers…
It only took the Cavaliers 6 games to get through the Wizards, and that was only because LeBron’s last second shot in Game 5 barely skipped off the rim. The Celtics, on the other hand, had to go the distance against a Hawks
The Lakers were the only team to sweep their Round 1 opponent, doing away with the Denver Nuggets with relative ease. The Jazz needed 6 games to finish off Tracy McGrady and the Houston Rockets, but appeared
The Lakers already ousted the Nuggets in no time, and now that franchise has a lot of questions to answer. Orlando also pulled off a 4-1 win over Toronto which leaves them watching on Tuesday Night. Who will be the next team to go home early?
We’re smack dab in the middle of playoff action and there are a couple games going later in the week that certainly demand my intrigue. I love what’s going on in the West, with the best teams delivering stinging blows early on,
In a season that was so crazy with no real clear cut dominant force in the West, it was surprising to see just one road team plunder home court advantage by winning in the underdog roll. In the East, a road win wasn’t surprising
