With all of the things that the NFL brings to us it didn't seem right to not give this great institution their own section. At Belmont.com we love the NFL football, everything from the drafts and pre-season games right on up to the big show - the Super Bowl.
Lucky Lester provided us with his thoughts on the potential for each team to win the 2007 Super Bowl. Which teams were good shots or long shots to win, he even went so far as to tell us which teams have no shot on Super Sunday. Lester will also be adding lots of football articles over the course of the season with his most recent being his 10 NFL Breakout Players.
Red Coffman was good enough to provide us with his 2007 NFL pre-season coverage and I am certain he will be providing some thoughts on other topics throughout the season. So remember... if it is NFL football you want then Belmont.com will be dishing up the good stuff every week. Haven't made your choice on who is going to win the 2007 Superbowl, you should check out Lucky Lester's Super Bowl betting strategies and sign up to place your bet today.
The best players in the NFL (minus some guys sitting out for sulking reasons) get together to put on a last-gasp football show for the fans. As always, the game will take place in Hawaii and while it most likely won’t be as meaningful as playoff football, it’s still football…
The Super Bowl is set, and the Giants will play the New England Patriots in Phoenix, Arizona on February 3rd. This article will present some of the big play players in which the game will rely on. I’ll break down key positions…
This is the second article in my series on Super Bowl numbers. I showed you all about the Patriots in episode 1, this write-up will dive into the numbers that got the Giants into this position. I can guarantee..
Going into the Super Bowl, I figured I might as well break down the numbers for each team lucky enough to play for the trophy and the all so mighty ring. I’m going to start with the Patriots, because, well, they haven’t…
As if the family and the feasting weren’t enough we also get to enjoy some great football match ups too. This thanksgiving the NFL is serving up the Packers and Lions, the Jets and Cowboys and last but not least the Colts VS the Falcons.

I’ve been in the world for just under 30 years, and have been a football fan for some time. I’ve seen some great teams from the Bills’ AFC run, the Dolphins with Marino, those 49er teams with Joe and then with Young, Mike Ditka’s Chicago Bears, and of course the Dallas Trio winning too much down their in the South. And honestly, I’ve always thought the Patriots were overrated, winning ugly all the time, and never covering spreads when I picked them. But this is something special, something we may never see again.
After 6 weeks of some crazy NFL action, three NFC teams have a record with 1 win or less. That’s pretty pathetic, but the question is, do these teams have any value on the betting circuit? With New Orleans winning last week, the Rams struggling once again, and the Falcons getting blasted by the Giants, I’m not so sure. Lets take a look at each team in their infinite state of confusion, future health, and spread coverage.
After 5 weeks of some crazy NFL action, there are still 9 teams with one win or less. There are a couple pre-season favorites that find themselves in a really tight singlet right about now, and there’s still some questions asking which of these teams, if any, will pull themselves from the ashes to put together a playoff run. More importantly, out of these struggling teams, are their any worth wagering on?
There are a few teams out there that are undefeated and undefeated, smashing opposing teams and spreads. Then there’s the Colts, undefeated and 1-2 ATS. How is that possible, well, in this world, you can be 3-0 and you can be making life miserable for gamblers, never covering the spread, and just barely pulling off last second field goals against lesser competition. Or you could be allowing opponents to come back late in games they have no business being in, and lose a spread in the last few minutes. Also, you can be 1-2 and 3-0 against the spread, holding true to your title as an underdog. In this article, I’m looking in to the straight-up undefeated teams, what is keeping them from losing games, and a little insight into their ability to cover, or in the case of the Colts, fail to cover spreads.
Every week you’ll see some underdogs smack down the confidence of the teams that are “supposed to win” but last week, the underdogs won 7 games. Sure, lots of losing teams can be hear barking before a big game against a team full of talent, but in Week 2, the Bite was actually bigger than the bark. How did they do it? Was the underdog really an underdog? Or is the power balance on the move once again? I’ll look at it a little closer into a few of the big upsets, but with a 7-9 SU record and a smack down of 12-3-1 ATS, I think the puppy dogs just might be growing up. Lets take a closer look at some of the biggest upsets from Week 2 and see if we can’t justify them.
