Week 11 NFL Power Rankings

Written by Peter Childs on November, 13th 2007 | 0 Comments

(Number in brackets indicates last weeks rank.)

1. (1) New England Patriots

Coming off their bye week, where they had 5 days off before returning to practice in preparation of the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night. The Boston Globe had an interesting article this week on the Patriots offensive numbers and revealed that Randy Moss has been included in 500 of 583 offensive snaps, that's 84%.

2. (3) Dallas Cowboys

Coming off another win against division rival New York Giants, the Boys take a 3 game lead in the NFC East and keep pace with the Packers in the NFC for the conference crown.

3. (5) Green Bay Packers

Farve and the Packers absolutely destroyed the Vikings on Sunday 34-0 with Farve throwing for more than 300yds. With a showdown at Dallas that could very well determine home field advantage for the NFC in 3 weeks time, I see this team getting nothing but better as the season progresses.

4. (2) Indianapolis Colts

Coming off 2 tough loses in a row, and the loss of Dwight Freeney for the year to injury to go along with the rest of their injury problems, they could have difficulties holding on to their division lead. With home games against Kansas City, Tennessee and Jacksonville coming up, they need to get healthy in a hurry. The pick up of Simeon Rice should help some what in the replacement of Freeney.

5. (4) Pittsburgh Steelers

Good thing the Steelers defense decided to show up in the second half against the browns this past weekend or we could quite possibly be talking about the Browns in this position.

6. (8) Jacksonville Jaguars

After giving up almost 300 yards rushing to the Titans in their first meeting of the year the Jaguars turned it around on Sunday running roughshod over the titans much maligned defense putting up 28 points in one of their more complete games of the season.

7. (14) Seattle Seahawks

Reverting back to the ways of a pass first offense the Seahawks had no problems putting up points against a brutal 49ers team on Monday night.

8. (15) San Diego Chargers

Antonio Cromartie 3 picks against Manning on Sunday night the week after he returned a missed field goal 109 yards. The Chargers need to figure a way to keep this kid in the starting lineup.

9. (13) Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Coming off their bye week the Bucs look to keep their winning ways as they roll into Atlanta for a NFC South matchup.

10. (12) Cleveland Browns

5 more yards on the final drive of the game and this team is tied for the lead in the AFC North with the Steelers. Question, can Anderson handle the pressure of big games in the second half? Time will only tell as he looked a little shaky in the second half against the Steelers.

11. (19) Philadelphia Eagles

Despite a poor performance against the Cowboys 2 weeks ago, they put forth a gutsy come from behind win against division rival Washington, on the back of who else but Brian Westbrook one of the most underrated players in the NFL.

12. (18) Buffalo Bills

A nice come from behind win against a desperate Miami team, keeps the Bills wildcard hopes alive. Now can they do the imaginable and upset the high powered Patriots at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday Night in front of a national audience?

13. (6) New York Giants

After making it a four point game early in the fourth quarter the Giants offense and more notably Eli Manning disappeared into the night along with any chance at winning the NFC East. And with a fairly tough schedule left this team is going to have to fight to make the playoffs.

14. (7) Tennessee Titans

Their defense was not up to the task against the Jaguars last week, and with a poor offense the question is how far will this team drop once the rest of the league has figured out how to beat their defense.

15. (8) Detroit Lions

The road ahead for this Lions team is a tough one, they need to get a lot more consistent on both sides of the ball if they have any hope of getting into the playoffs.

16. (11) Washington Redskins

The Redskins again figured out how to give away a lead late in the game as they let the Eagles score 2 td's in the last 4 minutes of the game.

17. (10) New Orleans Saints

Missed a golden chance to tie Tampa Bay for the NFC South lead losing to the previously winless Rams. They still have a chance to win the division but they must win the rest of their divisional games to have that chance.

18. (24) Denver Broncos

Even with their up and down season they are only one game back of San Diego with 3 more division games to go including a trip to San Diego Christmas Eve.

19. (22) Chicago Bears

The Bears managed to hold off the lowly Raiders last week but it took a bomb out of the arm of Rex Grossman to Berriman for them to win. Good news Rex had no turnovers in relief of Griese bad news it looks like he will start this week against Seattle as Griese is suffering from a bruised Shoulder.

20. (23) Arizona Cardinals

Took one step closer in contending in the pathetic NFC West by beating the Lions at home last week. Now can they string some wins together?

21. (17) Kansas City Chiefs

Still in it in the AFC West, but with a QB change and a ailing Larry Johnson they are a long shot.

22. (16) Baltimore Ravens

There season is pretty much over, Good news is Kyle Boller will probably start the rest of the season, a step up from an over the hill Steve McNair in my opinion.

23. (20) Minnesota Vikings

An embarrassing loss to division rival Packers and stud running back Adrian Peterson is out with a knee injury. Stick a fork in them their done.

24. (21) Carolina Panthers

What happened to this team? Injuries and inconsistent play? Lack of a decent backup quarterback?

25. (26) Cincinnati Bengals

Shayne Graham kicks 7 field goals, what happened to this once potent offence?

26. (25) Houston Texans

Looking to build on their win from 2 weeks ago.

27. (27) Atlanta Falcons

As if this team needs anymore distractions, now they are named in an international anabolic steroids sting. What else can happen to this team?

28. (28) New York Jets

Just looking to build for next year and see what there young QB Kellen Clemens can do in a starting role.

29. (29) Oakland Raiders

What can you say about this team? Well at least coach Kiffin didn't shy away from kicking to one of the best returners in the league.

30. (30) San Francisco 49ers

Embarrassing display of football on Monday night, this team is just plain bad.

31. (32) St. Louis Rams

Amazing what a healthy Stephen Jackson and Marc Bulger can do for this team. They could very well win 5 of their next seven if they can stay healthy.

32. (31) Miami Dolphins

Good news - Ricky Williams has been reinstated and it looks like their quarterback of the future John Beck is going to get his first start on Sunday.
