The Patriots are still Big Favorites opening as a 14 point favorite.

(Jan 15, 2008) - The NFL's Conference Finals have been set; the San Diego Chargers upset the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday even though they lost LaDainian Tomlinson and Philip Rivers to injury midway through the game. They will face the 17-0 New England Patriots Sunday at 3:05pm EST. The Patriots, enjoying home field advantage, are overwhelming favorites in this game. In the NFC Championship game, the surprise NY Giants are heading into Green Bay playing some of their best football in years, after becoming the first team in 17 years to upset the #1 seed in the NFC Divisional game. The Packers are coming off a game where they fell behind early, but battled back to dominate the Seahawks behind the arm and experience of QB Brett Favre. With Home field advantage at the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field, the Packers are early 7 point favorites.

"Championship Sunday is the best day of the year. It might not have the hype of Super Bowl Sunday, but it certainly has more substance as we have 2 epic battles from 4 teams all vying for the Super Bowl. The Patriots will be taking on a depleted Chargers team that suffered key injuries to RB LaDainian Tomlinson and QB Philip Rivers. The Patriots are healthy and playing at home, while the Chargers will be playing the 2nd of back to back road games. That's a lot of travel, especially this time of year when players start to break down. I was surprised that the Patriots are laying only 14 points in this game. As for the Giants vs. Packers, I can't believe QB Brett Favre is only one game away from going back to the Super Bowl after a 10 year absence. He'll have his hands full going up against a Giants defensive line that is wreaking havoc against opposing Quarterbacks."
