The Undefeated Patriots open as 12.5 Point Favorite for Super Bowl XLII
(Jan 22, 2008) - We have our Super Bowl Matchup; the undefeated New England Patriots will take on the New York Giants in Glendale Arizona on February 3, 2008 at 6:30pm EST. The Giants enter the Super Bowl after a dramatic overtime victory over the Green Bay Packers. The Giants interception of Brett Farve set up a Lawrence Tynes game winning field goal, winning 23-20 in the third coldest game in NFL history.
The Patriots enter the Super Bowl after a hard fought game against the San Diego Chargers. New England's defense was able to hold the Chargers to just 4 field goals. Asante Samuel was able to intercept Philip Rivers in the 4th quarter to secure the win and the Patriots 4th trip to the Super Bowl in 7 years.
Super Bowl XLII between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants is a rematch of a week 17 thriller, where Tom Brady hooked up with Randy Moss for 2 Touchdowns in a game that had plenty of fireworks.
